Beschreibung
A board & card game for 2 players themed around the Naval Battle on 11 September 1814. One player is the British. The other is the United States. Historically the US won the battle.
The game board is an 8x8 grid. The centre 4 spaces are Crab Island. Ships may not enter or move or attack through the island.
Each player starts with a number of ships of a variety of types and strengths:
US: 1x Corvette, 1 x Brig, 1 x Schooner, 1 x Sloop, 5 x Gunboats
British: 1x Frigate, 1 x Brig, 2 x Sloop, 6 x Gunboats
Players share a common deck. Cards types are Attack, Defence, Move or Special.
Each player places one Ship on squares of his back 2 rows. Ships may not stack.
Players take turns with each turn comprising 3 phases:
1. Orders Phase
- Draw 3 cards. Max hand size = 5 cards. Discard excess cards.
2. Manoeuvre Phase
- Play (discard) a move card to move one of your ships. The move card has a number indicating the number of spaces the ship moves diagonally or orthogonally. A ship may make 1 move per turn. The Schooner can make 2 moves per turn.
3. Fire Phase
- Play (discard) an attack card to have a ship attack. The attack card has a number indicating the range of the attack. Attacks can be diagonal or orthogonal.
- Every attack does 1 point of damage. A ship reduced to zero hits sinks and is removed from the board.
- Your opponent may play (discard) defence cards to negate your attack.
You win if you Sink/Disable/Capture the opposing Frigate/Corvette, Brig, and 1 Sloop/Schooner.
